Project 1 Draft

This is my first draft of Project 1. I am stumped on how to make it better so please leave some comments to help me! I'm going for realism so keep that in mind. Thanks!

  1. This is so good!!! I think that if you are going for realism, you might try making the waterfall blend in a bit more with the rocks. Other than that great job!

  2. I agree with Koko. The space just above the waterfall is missing something. Either a trail of the river above or more layers of rocks and trees.Everything below that point is looking really good. So I would now concentrate on the top quarter of the image.

The sky is feeling a little flat. You may be able to "Free Transform" it and right click to choose perspective to make the textures feel like they are getting further away from us.

Finally, I feel like I would like to see what would happen if you inserted one animal or human figure to activate the space.

    Overall, very interesting image!

  3. Tips for the waterfall:
Hmm, Instead of having it fall in a straight line maybe you can try inserting a rock or two in the upper half of the water fall.

You could also try Billy's idea of placing animals like a bird, a deer, or a fish. Hopefully, it won't change the central focal point of your idea if you put too many animals. If you wanted to capture your audience with the waterfall landscape i'd suggest maybe an animal in the sky and at the bottom of the water fall.

Other than that, nice job with using the textures in creating the overall composition -making it real.

  4. Woah! That is so cool! I really like the texture on the rocks. My only suggestion is to make the pool of water look like it's closer to the viewer for some added depth.

  5. I agree with the people above me and I would suggest added variety to the trees in the top quarter. Vegetation is varied and so if you have all the same trees, it becomes less realistic and more made-up/fake. Thanks for the suggestions on my illustration!
